Website privacy policy
What this policy covers
This policy describes how information submitted through this website is handled. It is separate from the Notice of Privacy Practices that governs protected health information for clients of the practice. If you are an established client, that notice, which you receive at intake, is the one that governs your clinical record.
Information collected
The only information collected through this website is what you voluntarily type into the contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number and pronouns, your preferred method of contact, and whatever you choose to write in the message field. Nothing else is requested and nothing is required in order to read the site.
How it is used
Messages are used for one purpose: to respond to your inquiry and, if you decide to move forward, to arrange an initial consultation. Your information is not sold, rented, traded, or shared with third parties for marketing. You will not be added to a mailing list.
Security and the limits of email
Standard email and web forms are not secure channels. Please do not send detailed clinical, medical, or otherwise sensitive information through this site. Keep initial messages general and save the details for a conversation conducted through a confidential channel.
Server logs
The web server that hosts this site keeps routine access logs, which may include IP addresses, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. These are used only for security and to keep the site running correctly.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies at all. There is no analytics package, no advertising pixel, and no third-party tracker of any kind. Everything the page needs, including the typefaces, is served from this website's own server, so simply reading these pages does not tell any outside company that you were here. For a therapy practice that seemed like the only defensible choice.
Your choices
You may ask at any time what information from a web inquiry is retained, and ask that it be deleted. Contact the practice using the details on the contact page.
Children
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Terms of use
Informational purpose only
The content on this website is provided for general informational purposes. It is not medical or psychological advice, it is not a substitute for professional evaluation or treatment, and reading it does not create a therapist and client relationship. Such a relationship begins only after an initial appointment and the completion of informed consent paperwork.
Not for emergencies
This website and any messages sent through it are not monitored continuously and must never be used to report an emergency. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
No guarantee of outcome
Therapy is a collaborative process and outcomes vary from person to person. Nothing on this site should be read as a promise or guarantee of any particular result.
External links
Links to outside resources are offered as a convenience. The practice does not control and is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other websites.
Intellectual property
The text and design of this site belong to the practice and may not be reproduced without permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of add state.
Accessibility statement
This site was built to be usable by as many people as possible. That includes semantic structure for screen readers, keyboard navigation throughout, visible focus indicators, color contrast that meets WCAG 2.1 AA for text, respect for the reduced motion setting in your operating system, and layouts that reflow cleanly when text is enlarged.
Accessibility is never finished. If you encounter a barrier anywhere on this site, please tell me and I will fix it. You can reach me through the contact page, and if the website itself is the barrier, call instead.
Licensure
